General Information about ICT Direct Advance Replace Warranty

ICT Direct offer, Advance Replacement warranty products paired with our range of Desktop PCs, Laptops, Tablets, Monitors, Workstations, Servers, & Storage solutions.

All warranties run from the date of invoice.  Details of warranties for each class of product we supply can be found below:

Refurbished Desktop PCs

We offer two products for Desktop PCs.

Platinum: A standard three year Advance Replace warranty available free of charge

Platinum Plus: A two-year extension to the Platinum warranty.  Available for £45 per unit and providing 5 years cover in total

Exceptions

PC BIOS batteries are exempt from the warranties detailed above and are only covered for three months from date of invoice

A Keyboard and Mouse may be provided with refurbished Desktop Computers.  These are not covered by the desktop warranty and will only ever carry a standard 1 Year Warranty

Refurbished Apple Desktops (Mac Mini, iMac etc) are not counted as a Desktop PC for the purposes of warranties and will only ever carry a standard 1 Year Warranty

Refurbished Laptop Computers

We offer two products for refurbished Laptops.

Gold: A standard two year Advance Replace warranty available free of charge

Platinum: A one-year extension to the Gold warranty.  Available for £20 per unit and providing 3 years cover in total

Dead Pixel Policy

A combination of up to 3 ‘bright’ or ‘dark’ pixels is acceptable for 12″ to 17″ refurbished laptop screens.

Please contact the support team if you have a dead pixel issue not covered by the statement above

Exceptions

Laptop batteries are exempt from the warranties detailed above and are only covered for three months from date of invoice

External Laptop Power Supplies are exempt from the warranties detailed above and are only covered for three months from date of invoice

Refurbished Apple Macbooks (Macbook, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air etc) are not counted as a Laptop for the purposes of warranties and will only ever carry a standard 1 Year Warranty

Refurbished Flatscreen Monitors

We offer two products for refurbished flatscreen monitors.

Gold: A standard two year Advance Replace warranty available free of charge

Platinum: A one-year extension to the Gold warranty.  Available for £10 per unit and providing 3 years cover in total

Dead Pixel Policy

A combination of up to 5 ‘bright’ or ‘dark’ pixels is acceptable for 19″ to 27″ refurbished flatscreen monitors.

Refurbished Professional Workstations

We offer a range of three products for Professional Workstations

Workstation Platinum: A standard three year Advance Replace warranty available free of charge

Workstation Platinum Plus: A two-year extension to the Platinum warranty.  Costs 30% of the total configured cost of the workstation, 5 years cover in total

Exceptions

Workstation BIOS batteries are exempt from the warranties detailed above and are only covered for three months from date of invoice

Cache batteries for storage controllers and accelerator cards are exempt from the warranties detailed above and are only covered for three months from date of invoice

Refurbished Servers

We offer two warranty products for Servers

Server Platinum: A three-year Advance Replace Warranty warranty.  This is our standard Free warranty.

Server Platinum Plus: A two-year extension to the Platinum warranty.  Costs 30% of the total configured cost of the Server, 5 years cover in total

Exceptions

Server BIOS batteries are exempt from the warranties detailed above and are only covered for three months from date of invoice

Cache batteries for storage controllers and accelerator cards are exempt from the warranties detailed above and are only covered for three months from date of invoice

 Tablet PCs & iPads

We supply a range of new tablet computers and Apple iPads.  We do not offer a warranty on these devices as they are covered by manufacturer warranty.  These warranties vary, but are typically only 1 year in length.

Please check with the Tablet manufacturer for details about their warranties.

Laptop & Tablet Storage

Laptop and cabinet storage units are sold as new units direct from supplier.  Each supplier offers different warranty terms.

Monarch

Lapcabby products have a a comprehensive Lifetime Warranty with 5 years electrical cover

Loxit Products have a standard 5 year warranty

Electrical components are only covered for one year however

Components purchased individually

We supply a full range of PC, Laptop, Server & Workstation components.  These are special orders and as such all items purchased in this manner come with a 1 year warranty.

These components include but are not limited to the following:

Desktop, Server & Workstation Processors

Desktop, Server, Laptop & Workstation Memory Kits

Hard Drives, Both Enterprise and Consumer

Graphics Cards, both Professional & Consumer

Expansion cards, such as network interface cards & sound cards,

Internal Power Supplies for Desktop PCs, Servers & Workstations

New replacement Batteries for Laptops

Exceptions

External Laptop Power Supplies are not covered by the 1 year warranty, and instead have a 3 month warranty

Brand New SSD Drives come with manufacturer warranty.  Please email us directly if you have a problem.  We will sort a replacement out for you.

Warranty Procedure

Warranty claims need submitting to support@ict-direct.co.uk DO NOT use the ‘Contact Us’ form on the website

Please include the ICT Direct asset tag number (see below), machine type and description of fault when submitting your email. For monitors please send is the serial number instead of the asset tag number,

ICT DIRECT ASSET TAG

Before submitting a warranty claim, please check out our knowledgebase as this details ways to identify and fix common problems with our products

Where a fault cannot be accurately diagnosed and suitable replacement parts sent out to the customer, we will Advance Replace the unit, shipping out a replacement unit and arranging for collection of the faulty one, using the DPD swap IT service.

Our support team will provide detailed instructions on how to package up your faulty device for safe return to us.

Where a product becomes obsolete, ICT Direct will replace faulty goods with a product of either equivalent or higher specification of the original part.

Warranty Exceptions

ICT Direct will not authorise the return and repair of any system which has modifications to the purchased specification i.e. addition/removal of components without prior consent from ICT Direct.

In the event that you wish to alter the system from the original specification you must contact ICT Direct.

Machines found to have been used in locations that may prove detrimental to the health of said machine will not be considered to be covered by warranty.  This includes but is not limited to; dusty environments such as a workshop (where the machine is not regularly cleaned internally) & damp locations such as a cellar or outbuilding. Damp areas and standing water increase the humidity in a room and will cause corrosion inside the machine.

Where our engineers detect evidence of dust or damp corrosion, any remaining warranty will be declared null & void, the item will be returned  and a charge will be made to cover the cost.

The ICT Direct Advance Replacement Warranty DOES NOT cover malicious or accidental damage.  Nor does it cover mechanical failure through expected wear & tear.

For returned items

Although we make every effort not to lose any information from your hard disk, please ensure all system data is backed up prior to returning hard drives, systems.

Responsibilities

ICT Direct will not be held responsible for any loss of data or program files.
